LANGLEY BEEF & SWINE

Langley Beef & Swine 4-H Club (established in 1952) is a club that fully supports the 4-H motto of "Learn to do by Doing". We make sure that our members learn/experience all that 4-H is about. They will gain knowledge in agriculture, leadership, husbandry, record keeping, teamwork and many other aspects of 4-H in general.

We are a club that is made up of 3 leaders, all with a long history as 4-H members and 2 of whom were actually members of this club. Currently, we have about 20 members, and are hoping to expand that number by adding keen individuals who would like to become members of 4-H by raising one, or both of our club projects of beef & swine.

We meet twice a month, First Monday of every month to have a formal meeting, and last Sunday (1pm) of the month at Aldor Acres Dairy Farm to bring all of our projects together to do a weigh-in and training. We do 2 fundraisers a year to support all of our club expenses. In 2009 we will participate in the Maple Ridge Fair and the PNE. We encourage the members to participate to gain valuable experience and have fun at the same time.

4-H is a tremendous opportunity to be a part of and if you are thinking about becoming a member of this club, or would like more information, please contact the key leaders.
